{ SHOES }

DAMN YOU HEELS.

in addition to being a zombie this morning, my feet & toes particularly were so sore after those hours in my heels! the only pro to wearing heels is knowing when i need to cut my toenails.  time to look for some flats.  i thought those were not allowed, but i guess as long as they look professional they're acceptable.

shoes in need: comfy slip-ons & professional lower pumps/flats.

zombie mode now rest

well, my 2 double days are over.  except i looked terrible when i walked in late this morning.  >_<  i knew i wasn't completely awake, but Gindy told me i just looked terrible.  i saw her surprised expression but didn't know what was so surprising.  well, now i know...

the highlight upon surpassing my doubles?  getting my uniform!  too bad my body shape isn't ideal... actually found one previous employee's set that sort of fit.  basically, if i manage to lose ALL my fat (w/i reason), i'll fit.  well, another reason for me to work out harder.  why does my metabolism work so slow?!  got myself checked out for thyroid problems and i was fine.  am?  perhaps i should get myself checked out again when my insurance kicks in.

OT

well, in 1 day i got asked to do 2 OTs w/i 24 hrs: tonight & then tomorrow morning.  don't think i will be able to make it to morning swim tomorrow... unless i take a nap in the car after the morning shift.  i probably will have to.  if tomorrow gets some sun like today at least my car will be nice & toasty to nap in, not freezing cold.  yay!  the weird part is getting asked to OT tomorrow by someone who works the bagroom.  ?  or perhaps he was just another messenger along the way.  who's the supervisor tomorrow morning?  at this point, who knows when i will have time to get to the list i made yesterday.  :(  well, at least i'll be earning extra money to pay back student loans! woot.

i need to make the most of my time to get things done.  it's good to be busy.  more accountable for myself & even more less of an excuse when i don't manage my time better.  i will really appreciate Tuesday afternoon this wk.  then dinner Wednesday night with Elisa & Itzel.  :D  however, i need to have my clothes put away by the end of the month before Jenny comes home.  i already know how that's going to be... *scoffs*

other than that... well, still haven't gotten around to posting my law textbooks on Amazon.  :/  and my furnishings aren't getting sold on Craigslist either.  aye.  oh yea, and Disneyland this Friday postponed to nx wk.  now it's up to Alicia being free Wednesday or Friday again.  i have a feeling it's Friday because she hasn't responded upon my posting regarding how Elisa's leaving Friday.  in that case, i'll just go to Disneyland with Alicia and Heather and Heather's coworker or someone.  i don't think Alicia or Itzel knows each other.  most seniors don't know the freshmen except those in their division/shared classes.

arrival

so i was actually supposed to be doing arrival on Friday.  yesterday if i remembered to write this before the clock ticked past midnight.....  so i got assigned to do arrival today because Alan "lost" me yesterday.  whoops.  well, arrival is the workout of the day in heels.  i followed Amy around and i guess it's not new for the TSA/CBP officers to see new employees trailing behind another.  they didn't even give me a 2nd look.  or just had the smile of here's another newbie.  what i was most aggravated about was getting put on Announcement again despite not knowing how to read Chinese.  -_-  assigned by the supervisor who asked me to read and got rejected because i don't know how.  and what i do know is not enough to get much across besides a few ideas of what the entire thing may consist.  Amy just ended up having me read the English part.  like anyone actually pays attention to what i said in English.  anyway, i just need to remember to breathe & keep my back turned to the numerous lines of people coming in.  all i have to say about today's experience is the huge cloud of confusion i was encased in.  although we have done our duties, we still go up to departure to help out there, then go back down to make sure all our passengers have cleared out.  well, i'll follow Amy but it's hard when i don't know where she disappeared to (in the elevator behind me).  the cool thing i got to see today was when the plane pulled up to the gate and the aircraft control person (not flight control) maneuver the sky bridge to the plane.  didn't realize how many parts could be adjusted... or perhaps it's just the modern ones now.  i always thought they were done by the airport people.

mini rant: while working at the airport for the airport isn't a job that requires a college degree (not a fed job), at least have some dignity and class.  there is one guy who brings the wheelchair with his mouth always open.  his face irks me.  i never thought i'd actually have this terrible experience, but it's just so unprofessional.  if someone is going to be racist and say these jobs are taken up by people of lower income families, i doubt only non-Caucasians are it.  i.e. what about other countries?  or the countries some of these people are originally from?  who do you think works at these type of jobs there?  there used to be a bus driver who always wore business attire back in Taiwan: white collar shirt, black slacks, and black leather shoes.  well, the nice ones guys wear to office.  he was really nice & recognized the regulars he'd pick up on his shifts => even when people weren't able to get to the bus right away, he'd wait for them = mom not having to wait for the nx bus.

besides that, got to hang out with Erin & Aaron tonight going to see Mike's band Capsolin's show at The Viper Room then at Erin's house.  hopefully we'll all have a day to go bike riding since Erin now has a bike rack for 3 bikes.  :)

my daily scribbles are long overdue, and perhaps it's time to catch up on it to keep myself on track for a lot of things.

  2. organize desk drawers
  3. get my stuff out of the garage

2 months

it has been 2 months back in SoCal, and the majority of my clothes are still scattered all over the living room.  :/  yea, bad me.  it's hard to believe that i have been back for 2 months, where i had started my new job the 2nd half of December and have not done much else since.  at least i'm getting to see friends!  or that i have good friends who actually want to see me...  :P

anyway, life hasn't changed much... i suppose.  lots to clean/organize/sort out still, too much food bought by 1 person not even used by that 1 person... in which that person loves eating others' food & will find the most illogical explanation as to why he thought it was meant for him.  oh yea, because it was on the table that he found appealing it was meant for him.  oh wait, so what happened to the daily feasts you concoct?  it so funny when you get scolded by your own daughter... like general bad habits anybody can easily point out.  i.e. closing the door and locking it ALL THE WAY, not dead bolt it half way, leave the chain just hanging instead of securing it; not closing the outside door and all the times the front & side entrances & garage were left wide open because it's America.  UHH- the movies always showed how Americans do it is not any excuse for lack of proper household etiquette.  an example is a Christian person saying how things are supposed to be according to Christian values yet chooses to ignore others based upon their own reasoning.  either follow it all traditionally or just don't.  i used Christian because of the recent debates that some Christian leaders have spoken on.  with a college friend, we have the same opinion: religion is about learning the morals & lessons to be a better person.  when people start pointing to the words, it's not about what to take from it rather than reciting lines.  at least that's what i got out of the Sunday school stories.  some stories are stories, about what people did for what they believe in.  other stories are examples of doing the right thing regardless of our religious or cultural beliefs/differences.

ANYWAY, the most exciting things i've done upon moving back home:
  1. The Hobbit pre-screening with Sonya
  2. Curry House with Emily
  3. visited Michelle & Matt down in Dana Point & spent the night
  4. lap swim with Elisa
  5. breakfast at Mimi's Cafe with Heather
  6. drove around southern LA county with Itzel
  7. Candy Cane Lane with Jennifer, Han, Sonya on Christmas night
  8. dinner at the Mattsons'
  9. 30-mile bike ride with Ashley
  10. Dine LA with Jennifer at Terranea Resort's Catalina Kitchen
  11. Apples-to-Apples with Thor, Jon, Alicia, Elisa
  12. Life of Pi with Sharan
i hope i didn't forget anyone.  it was great to reconnect with old friends.  ^_^  hope to keep having these sweet moments to savor over my lifetime.

as for working at my new & 1st official job, i can't wait for when i have enough money to travel.  destinations on my list that the airline flies to:
  1. Palau
  2. Japan
    1. Okinawa
    2. Tokyo - Narita
  3. Korea
  4. Cambodia
  5. India
  6. New Zealand
  7. Australia
    1. Sydney (again)
    2. Brisbane
  8. Netherlands
but besides that, i want to be able to save up so much so i can go to all the Grand Slams.  that most likely will not happen for some years, and sadly, the players i would like to watch now will all have retired by then (seeing that Roger Federer is already considered old for the sport).  :'(  although people will say there will be new players to watch, it's about the rivalry and the unique styles some players have.  1 player i would love to watch is Rafael Nadal.  being scrappy is a crucial part in tennis, but it's another thing to embody relentless power with control like his unbelievable topspin, though shunned by tennis coaches.  it's not a technique that is taught, but when you're a pro... you develop your own sense of getting things done.  not that they're doing it wrong, but not looked upon happily.  i can only imagine what kind of strain he puts on his shoulder for that...
  • Australian Open - January, Melbourne
  • Roland Garros/French Open - May, Paris
  • Wimbledon - June, London
  • US Open - August, New York
oh yea, and February, my month to get back in shape.  doesn't help that it's now 8 minutes til midnight.  -__-  my hopes of getting up early for lap swim pretty much evaporated.  however, i can still get up and do some jump rope with the side-to-side jump instead of staying stationary.  hopefully that will help tone my obliques (& burn off the fat keeping me a chub-a-lub.  today's workout: going to the gate.  it wasn't far today, but i used my arm muscles to lift baby strollers!  >_<  damn some of those things are NOT light.  *sigh*  the beauty of having preferred genes over the ones i grew to show.  if only.
